The Hills Park

The Hills Park in Las Vegas, Nevada is a charming oasis in the heart of Sin City. It’s an ideal spot to take a break from the hustle and bustle of The Strip while still getting to experience all that Las Vegas has to offer.

It was designed by renowned landscape architect Lawrence Halprin to provide a peaceful, natural setting for those looking for an escape from the neon lights of Las Vegas. In fact, Hills Park was his first public work in Nevada!

Location

The Hills Park is conveniently located close to The Strip and major resorts like Mandalay Bay, New York-New York, and MGM Grand. It’s easy to get there by car or public transportation. There are plenty of parking spaces for those who drive in and bike racks if you want a more eco-friendly way of getting around Las Vegas.

Landscape and Picnic

The park features lush landscaping with rolling hills, meadows, and trees that provide much-needed shade during hot summer days. There are plenty of paths for leisurely strolls around the green space and plenty of room to spread your blanket or set up a picnic. You can bring your own food or buy from the nearby concession stands to grab a snack or a light meal.

During the summer months, the best time for a barbecue is after 6 pm, when the park closes to vehicular traffic. You can also join yoga classes, kite flying, or nature walks.

Amenities

The park boasts recreational opportunities, including basketball courts, a large playground for children, and an outdoor amphitheater that hosts concerts throughout the year. Local artists and organizations often hold classes and performances in the park, allowing visitors to get up close and personal with local culture.
